Irishwrecks.com is a redux of irishwrecksonline.net, a scuba diver’s resource website known as “a divers guide to the ship wrecks around Ireland.” It was identified as a project for my UI/UX class as a website that had an extremely poor user experience. I simplified the URL to make it more professional and easier to find. The cornerstone of the site is a database to make it simpler to search for ship wrecks. The new site featured user-generated content from submissions as well as feeds from Instagram and Twitter. A new logo combines a vintage navigational element with a stencil font one might find on shipping containers. Sea foam colored type works beautifully with the hemp rope used for the hamburger menu and details throughout the site.
