The Science & Art Club of Germantown is a 150-year old intellectual club in Philadelphia where for members meet to learn and share ideas on the topic relating to Science and Art. The distinguished membership takes turns hosting the evening’s entertainment in various locations around northwestern Philadelphia. In 2019, as the club recognized the aging of its membership, they realized that they needed to modernize the club’s brand (a bit…not too much!) to attract new members. Simultaneously they determined that the membership would benefit from an easy to use website where they could (1) keep track of upcoming events and RSVP to attend events (2) communicate the club’s mission and longevity to the community to increase membership and (3) serve as an archive of past club activity. Hence was borne a new logo and the website scienceandart.club. The logo features the two halves of the brain to represent arts and science, upon which a vintage font in a reinterpretation of the club’s blue and grey, pays homage to the club’s storied past.
